You’ll begin by heading to Tetouan, famous for its pristine beaches and well-kept streets. Your 9-Day Tour in Morocco From Tangier will begin Our driver will pick you up from Tangier’s port or airport and take you to Chefchaouen, a town constructed as a secret mystery site from which to fight the Portuguese who had established themselves on the northern coast. Europeans were not permitted to access the village until the arrival of Spanish troops in 1920. Arrive in Chefchaouen and make our first encounter with the city; check into a hotel or riad in the Medina.
After breakfast, we will leave Checfchaouen, continuing to the Roman ruins of Volubilis. On your visit to this historical site, you will be accompanied by a local guide. Volubilis was a part of the Roman Empire and dates to 225 BC. Here you will see the most beautiful mosaics in Morocco from the same period.

We will then continue the drive to Fes through the beautiful foothills of the Rif mountains. Overnight accommodation in a hotel or riad. BB.
After breakfast, we’ll head to “the oldest living Medina in the world” with a local official tour guide. We will tour the Medina’s “souks” (markets), stopping at the Royal Palace’s gateway, the 9th-century Karouine Mosque, and the University. We will also visit the tomb of the city’s founder, “Moulay Idriss II.” Lunch will be served at a traditional restaurant in the ancient Medina.
Following lunch, we will continue our tour by seeing the Nejjarine Fountain, the ancient Harem Garden, and the Batha Museum. On our way back to the hotel, we’ll stop to take in the city’s panoramic views.
In the morning, we will travel into the mountains to Imouzzer, a location covered in cedar, juniper, and cork oak forests. The area is well-known for its plentiful wildlife, and we may encounter a variety of birds, wild boar, and Barbary apes during our lovely drive. The route will then begin to climb into the Middle Atlas Mountains, where we may observe the slopes populated with nomadic Berber tents and goat herds. After a late lunch in Midelt, we proceed along mountain roads overlooking the wide-flowing Oued Ziz. Passing Kasbahs and palm gardens, we drive through the adobe-colored city of Er-Rachidia and arrive at Merzouga in the late afternoon.
In the morning, we begin our journey to the Erg Chebbi dunes. We will visit a Berber house and listen to Gnawa music, which originated in Mali and Sudan. We’ll see disused mines, Berber nomads, and a palm tree oasis. For lunch, we will return to Merzouga.
After some relaxation, we’ll head for the camels, who are eager to take us on an excursion through the sand dunes. We will spend the night in a fully prepared camp with drum music in the center of the Sahara, providing an excellent opportunity to photograph the sunset and sunrise. Today your camel man will make sure to wake you up to watch a beautiful sunrise where you will see the sunshine cover the small golden dunes of Merzouga and the rocky barren Sahara Desert. After your breakfast at the camp, you will trek back by camel, or if you feel you’ve had enough of riding the camels, you have the option for a 4-wheel drive back from the camp.
You will then head on the road to the Dades Valley for another excellent day. First, you will visit the Todra Gorges, the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco, where you might get a chance to hike for an hour in the area. After lunch, the drive continued to the Dades Valley, where you will be amazed by the beauty of the town, such as the rock formations known as “monkey toes” and the sand castles that cover the area. After breakfast at your hotel, you will head on the road to Marrakech, crossing the Dades Valley through the beautiful Berber villages such as the “rose town.” Kalaa Mgouna is a famous town for farming roses. One of our main stops will be at Skoura Oasis, where there are numerous ancient kasbahs, some sadly in ruins that stand amongst the palm trees.
You will visit a very famous kasbah in the region called Amridil Kasbah, a historic fortified residence in the oasis of Skoura. It is considered among the most impressive kasbahs of its kind in Morocco and was built during the 17th century. It’s famous for the filming of the movies “Ali Baba and 40 Thieves” and Lawrence of Arabia. After the visit, we continue the drive to Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa”, whose geography and beautiful landscape have attracted many world-class movie producers.
After lunch, you have the option to visit the movie studio, said to be the biggest in the world, where such films as Kingdom of Heaven, Gladiator, Body of Lies, and Star Wars movies were filmed.
We will then continue the drive to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah for a visit 25 kilometers from Ouarzazate, the UNESCO World Heritage Site, a spectacular fortified village built during the beginning of the 20th century by the T-hami El Glaoui, as the Kasbah today became one of the attractive spots for famous movie producers.
The drive will continue to Marrakech with dramatic scenery, crossing the high Atlas Mountains through the magnificent road Tizi n’Tichka Pass, arriving in Marrakech in the late afternoon, and checking at your accommodation.
You will be taken on a guided tour of Marrakech to discover its many features, including a stroll through Medina’s labyrinth of small alleyways and famous Souks, as well as a visit to the city’s most spectacular palaces and monuments. The Bahia Palace, Koutoubia Mosque, Majorele Gardens, Melah, and the well-known Jamma Elfnna Square are all included. Overnight at the riad.
