You will meet your driver/guide based on where you are: Airport / Port / Hotel / Riad and drive via the Rif Mountains and Tetoun City to enjoy the views of the gorgeous mountains till we reach Chefchaouan, also known as the Blue City, which is one of the stunning settlements at the foot of the Rif Mountains. Chefchaouen medina has a Spanish-style square surrounded by numerous eccentric arts and crafts boutiques, roof-top restaurants, and cafés where you will spend the night in a wonderful area to enjoy the breeze and the beauty of nature, overnight in a hotel.
After breakfast, we take a tour to Chefchaouen (The Blue City), a tiny city located in the Rif Mountains. The city dates back to 1471. The city’s name is derived from the Berber term Chef Chaouen*, which means gaze at the horns. Chefchaouen is a beautiful area to hike and unwind. You will go through the historic city of Chefchaouen and see Rass El Ma (The Head of the Water). Ras El Ma provides water for the city’s irrigation and washing needs. This is a public space where local women wash clothes and blankets. When you’ve finished your tour, you’ll spend the night at your Riad or hotel.
After breakfast, we will travel across the Rif Mountains and into the Middle Atlas Mountains to explore the Roman remains of Volubilis, Morocco’s most important archeological site. After continuing to Fes via Meknes, which was Morocco’s capital during Moulay Ismail’s rule, you will continue your journey to Fes and check into your accommodations.
All day dedicated to touring Fez, the oldest of the imperial towns, home to the world’s first university dating back to the ninth century, and one of the most intact medieval cities in existence. Surrounded by massive defensive walls, it appears to be caught in a time warp, midway between the Middle Ages and the present era. We will be accompanied by a local guide into the historic Medina, where we will see the famed tanneries and the Karaouine mosque. After lunch at a traditional Moroccan restaurant in the Medina, you will visit the Merenid tombs and enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the city. Check into your lodging.
Today we leave Fes early and travel south-east through the middle Atlas mountains and cedar woodlands, passing by Moroccan Switzerland “IFRANE”, a picturesque ski resort, and Azrou, an important handicraft center specializing in cedar wood work. After crossing the Zad pass (2,178 metres/7,146 feet), you arrive in Midelt for lunch.
Afternoon: Drive to Erfoud via Errachidia, the 1000 Palms of Ziz valley, which is lined with palm palms. Continuation to the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, passing from the route of Paris Dakar, the workshop of fossils, Tent of Berber Nomads who live in the loneliness of the Sahara, following continuation to our Hotel located near the enormous dunes, from here you will have a camel ride to the Sahara desert will enjoy the sunset, Dinner and over night in the desert luxury camp.
Wake up early to witness the spectacular dawn, when the color of the dunes and the movement of shadows create an unforgettable picture. Following breakfast and shower. We will begin our journey to Ouarzazate through the vast palm grove of Tafilalet and Rissani, stopping at Erfoud, which is famed for its petrified marbles and where you will see the marble fossil producing workshop. Continue to Todra Gorges, where you will eat lunch. This is a wonderful spot for strolling and exploring on your own. After driving to Ouarzazate through Dades valley and the village of roses, Kelaa Mgouna, we continue over the Road of Thousand Kasbah, past Skoura palm grove till we arrive at Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Morocco”. After breakfast, we visit Aït Benhaddou, a ‘fortified city’ located along the historic caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech. It is located on a hill beside the Ouarzazate River and features several lovely Kasbahs, some of which are still inhabited. The landmark was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site and has used as the backdrop for several films, including Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. After lunch, proceed to Marrakech via Tizi-n-Tischka, one of the Atlas’ highest mountain crossings (2260 meters). We shall rest and sip Moroccan tea, often known as Berber whisky. Arrive in Marrakech and drop you at your accommodation at the end of our excursion.
