Camel trekking in the Merzouga desert for two nights includes visits to nomad families in the Erg-Chebbi dunes as well as two nights in the Sahara desert. Our Camel Trek desert trips include two camp options: a luxurious and simple desert camp with outstanding meals, or a classic nomadic bivouac under the stars.
This two-night camel trip in the Merzouga desert, Morocco, begins in the evening at 5/6 PM. Depending on your arrival time, we will arrange a camel ride overnight in the Erg Chebbi desert from Merzouga. The camels will be packed with food and everything we’ll need for this Camel Ride Tour in Merzouga.
The camel trek will take around an hour and a half into the desert. We will spend the night in the Sahara desert, which provides an excellent opportunity to photograph the sunset and sunrise on the way to the camp. Once there, we will hike to the high dunes to see the sunset. It will be a magical night when the sky is clear of clouds and the stars sparkle and shine with intensity. The first night will include a delicious meal and a night in a desert luxury camp.
Today, after breakfast, we will ride camels to visit nomads and learn about their lifestyle. We will also have lunch in the desert and learn how to cook Berber pizza.
After lunch with the nomad family, we will ride camels back to the camp. We will then walk to the dunes to try sandboarding, visit an oasis in the heart of the dunes, and return to the camp for dinner at sunset.
On the final day, we will get up early for a spectacular sunrise, followed by a delicious breakfast at the camp, and then ride the camel back to Merzouga, where our two-night desert journey will end.
This two-night camel trip in Merzouga offers a view of Morocco’s desert’s unique and intriguing scenery, rich culture, and welcoming hospitality. This camel ride is likely to leave you with lasting memories as it combines adventure, history, and leisure.
